Shop – Ski, Snowboard & Kiteboard Building Materials

Here you will find all of the ski & snowboard materials you need to build your own diy skis or a boards! The bottom layer for the skis and snowboard sandwich construction is the base. Its a sintered UHMW or extruded HDPE plastic for glide and protection. The steel metal edges are bounded to the base outline with epoxy. VDS Rubber tape is placed on the steel edges in order to physically decouple the metal edges from the rest of the layers. Then comes multi axial fabric composite layer. It can be a triaxial glass, carbon or flax fabric or any combination. On top comes the wood core layer. It runs from the tip to the tail. Closed off on the sides with ABS or UHMW sidewalls. The tip and tail is made of thin plastic tip/tail filler so the it can be bent and formed. Then comes another layer of multiaxial composite fabric on top of the wood core, forming a rigid sandwich structure with the bottom layer. Finally a thin plastic topsheet layer on top, as a protective layer holding the graphics. Inserts for bindings are placed into the core. If extra rigidity/performance is required, a Titanal layer is used top and/or bottom. All these layers are saturated and bound together with epoxy resin!
